Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

There is hope….

The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.

For those who suffer from tinnitus and/or hyperacusis, there is hope and there is help.   With compassionate, personalized, and professional care it is possible for you to experience reduced suffering and frustration.

Guiding you through an insightful, goal-oriented and evidence-based approach, combined with the application of recent scientific evidence linking mindful awareness and consciousness to neural network changes in the brain, you will arrive at a much better place.  A place of understanding; a place of peace.

When tinnitus and/or hyperacusis are viewed in the context of your life (family, social, work, and recreation) it is possible to put together a treatment program which will help you gradually return to your desired level of activity.

The approaches used include, but are not limited to, Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnosis, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

For residents of Ontario I am pleased to offer a secure online video therapy option.  Similar to Skype, this option is available from the comfort of your own home.  You can use either a computer, tablet, or even your cellphone!

Working together via secure online therapy can be just as powerful and engaging as sitting together face-to-face in my office.  Some clients feel more comfortable with this modality, particularly if they live a great distance away or if timing for appointments or travel is difficult.

The telemedicine platform used complies with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and all equivalent personal health information protection legislation in Canada.
